About Danny Zuko
Danny Zuko, played by a young John Travolta, is the main male character in the 1978 film Grease. He is introduced as career-defining and popular high school student, joking around with his car gang, The T-Birds. We quickly learn that he has had a summer romance with an Australian girl named Sandy, who turns up unexpectedly at his high school after her parents decided to remain in the US.
Danny has a reputation as a ladies man to uphold and is rude to Sandy in front of his friends, which breaks her heart and causes him just as much inner turmoil. We realize that Danny has strong feelings for Sandy, but may have blown his chances when she starts seeing one of the school jocks.
As the story progresses, it seems like the pair will never get together, but following a big car race that Danny wins, both appear willing to compromise and proudly profess their love for one another, no matter what their friends will think.
